H. (Hamlet again?) HAMLETS' CLUB
Premiere: 27. 09. 2010. - Gödör Club – Spicc Stage Budapest
Freely adapted from Shakespeare, again
Visual theatre with physical effects
“It is impossible to show Hamlet as it lasts nearly six hours. You can only put on a Hamlet that’s inspired by the original. This Hamlet will certainly be much poorer than Shakespeare’s, but it might be richer in reflections of today’s world. For generations people have recognized themselves in Hamlet. That’s why we might call Hamlet a work of
genius : one can see oneself as if in a mirror.”
(Jan Kott Polish literary, historian, critic, essay-writer)
Hamlet is the third part of Company IM’s Shakespeare tetralogy following the (Ladies)
Macbeths premiered in 2008 and RandJ (Romeo and Juliet) premiered in 2009.
